Meet-ups and Tweet-ups OH MY (and some Mitt, too!)
It wasn't too long ago, that I was just a name behind a keyboard. Somehow, it never dawned on me that there would be others, like me, around my community, that gathered.
Every time that I venture out for one of these meet-ups, the anxiety of gathering and getting out of my warm nested comfort zone lessens.
Every meet-up is different and yet, I never thought myself to be a "meet-up" kind of girl.
The other day, I was reading a busy blogger post her online routines. Among them was "visit my top five blogs." I thought about that, for a minute. I failed at the ability to confine my favorites to five. I'll admit that there are days that I don't open my Google Reader.
I know. I find it hard to comprehend, too. *shame*
After meeting Ken, from TheDigitel.com, last night, though, I know that TheDigitel.com just became my first-stop-daily-plan. I can remove "weather check" from my daily list. TheDigitel has that covered, for me.
It says "thunderstorms" today, though.
That could just put a dent in my plans for day.
I really enjoy meeting at North Towne Grille and Seafood. The chocolate mousse pie and bean soup are just perfect, to me. The atmosphere was very comfortable and quiet and we had a great visit.
The local meet-ups are becoming a charge in my battery of life. They help me get out, from behind "my desk," (aka My Lappie) and feel a little more human.
It would only be better to have some of your missing smiling faces.
*cough* This means you, James! "If I can make it, you can make it, too." *smile* And for those of you who missed it for the DNC. Well, shame/shame. I'm so sadder without you there.
I checked in with twitter, when I got home. Someone put a Mitt buzz in my ear and I had to admit, I was overjoyed. Upon doing some further searching, though, I was disappointed by the Google Juice.
I truly would feel better, as an American, to hear that Mitt got the job, today. It would just truly make my millennium.
