To Preserve, Protect, and Defend?

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Does it really matter what they THINK about abortion? Does it matter IF they are pro-life? Does pro-choice really mean pro-abortion?

I don't think so.

Our Constitution is what they are to defend.. and it is pro-choice.

Done. Next?

Everyone, that knows me, knows that whether or not I personally would have an abortion has nothing to do with my belief that our Constitution supports a woman's right to choose.

Just because I would not have one, does not mean that I should have a judgment for anyone else's personal situation.

I guess I'd be considered a flip-flopper if I said that I'm both... pro-life and pro-choice.

Everyone will have their judgment and I'm so thankful that its not my job.

I want a president to just do his job. You and I don't have a choice to not follow the rules of our jobs.

It should be no different as the Commander-in-Chief.

As a side note, I don't recall a presidential race excluding a running-mate, this far into the year.. am I mistaken?

It seems to me, as well, like this is REALLY late in the game for both parties to be picking a VP.
